This course is conducted under the auspices of APL Group Pty Ltd RTO 3586 t/as LivCor, who will be responsible for the quality and direction of all accredited training and assessment conducted by Redpath Education., as well as the issuing of Statements of Attainment for the units of competency on LivCor's scope.
It is a requirement of the NT WorkSafe - First Aid Code of Practice for First aiders to attend training on a regular basis to refresh their first aid knowledge and skills and to confirm their competence to provide first aid. To maintain compliance as a First Aider, your skills and knowledge can be re-certified every 3 years by completing our First Aid course (HLTFA311A Apply First Aid), or your CPR (HLTCPR211A Perform CPR) skills and knowledge re-certified annually by completing our CPR course.
Your First Aid course meets compliance with the Education and Childcare Services National Regulations and provides participants with the knowledge and skill to confidently recognise and respond to an emergency situation requiring first aid, is suitable for the general public, students and corporate clients delivered in town or at remote locations, and can be tailored to suit your specific requirements. This HLTFA311A Apply First Aid unit of competence incorporates the content of units HLTCPR211A Perform CPRand HLTFA211A Provide basic emergency life support, additional information on accredited training can be found at Training.gov.au (replaces the NTIS).

Training and assessment arrangements:
This accredited course is delivered in three (3) formats, all of which provide participants with the knowledge and skills to confidently recognise and respond to an emergency situation requiring first aid.
- One Day course with theory questions completed prior to the workshop.
- Two Day course (one full + one 1/2 day) to support ESL participants in remote areas
- Three day course (3hrs each day over 3 days) specifically designed for delivery in remote areas
The one day course is conducted in English and applicants must possess functional written and spoken English skills. Practical training will be delivered face to face, either on site or at our training rooms. The practical training is delivered in one session of eight (8) hours, at a time to suit the facility or the majority of the participants.
The pre-course theory questions test the current competence of the participant, our First Aid educator assesses the participants skills and knowledge throughout the one-day face to face session, and competence in applying First Aid through various scenarios and CPR skill stations.
The two day course (one full + one 1/2 day) is designed to support ESL participants, with theory assessments delivered verbally to participants on prior arrangement.
The three day course (3hrs each day over 3 days) is specifically designed for delivery in remote locations where workplace or other time restrictions preclude full day attendance, with theory assessments delivered verbally to participants on prior arrangement.
Students under 14 years of age must provide written permission to attend the course from their parent or guardian.

The course is delivered by local, qualified industry professionals, who recognise the needs of the individuals and embrace the principles of cultural safety in their teaching.
Fees are payable though the website or at our office by credit card (Visa/MC), cash or purchase order, and may be tax deductible to eligible students. Should the NT Government and industry bodies make Scholarships available, we will assist you to apply.
A 'No Refunds Policy' applies to all online learning courses once you have been issued with your user name and passwords, whether you have accessed the system or not.
Pre-payment secures your enrolment for this course, and all fees must be paid before a Statement of Attainment is issued.

Text Books & Learning support
Participants receive a hard copy Emergency First Aid reference book with over 250 pages of information to assist you in maintaining your knowledge over time, up to advanced level's of First Aid. LLN support can be provided to participants on request, which includes additional face to face time with the trainer/assessor
1 competency unit is required for award of this qualification, with content including:

- Infectious Diseases and Hygiene
- Basic Human Anatomy and Physiology
- Management of Conscious and Unconscious Casualties
- Airway Management
- Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation
- Fractures and Soft Tissue Injuries
- Diabetes, Epilepsy, Stroke, Asthma
- Heart Conditions
- Environmental Exposure (hot and cold)
- Poisons, Bites and Stings
Also encompassing an introduction to use of the Epi-Pen, the Automated External Defibrillation (AED) and special needs of remote area practice.
