Interested parties included Facility Child Care and Family Day Care providers, Aboriginal Liaison Officer's (ALO’s) from Alice Springs Hospital, supported by Bellette, Dymocks and Priceline Pharmacy.

The Adult Learners Week project was funded through the Northern Territory Government - Growing the Territory Initiative, designed to inform and engage people in learning activities, to develop skills and knowledge applicable to the workplace or community support activities, in paid or unpaid work, across all sectors.

Activities such as training sessions in First Aid (CPR), Food Safety, Asthma and Anaphylaxis Management as well as Fire Warden training were delivered to the public free of charge, with Information sessions highlighting learning pathways available within the region were delivered on the stage area for the full week.

CDU provided information sessions to the public while STePS Training provided face to face information support for learners undertaking Training programs in Alice Springs and remote areas.

Community Leaders in Girl Guides discussed how formal adult training programs are supported within the activities of not for profit organisations, and how this translates into real employability skills.  Group Training NT and other organisations supported the week through information sessions and discussions of apprenticeships and traineeships.

The Aboriginal Liaison Officers from Alice Springs Hospital discussed opportunities for contextualised workplace learning, highlighting how training is for everyone, and how formal or informal learning can be fun and engaging.

On the Friday we celebrated with the learners, while presenting certificates for the weeks formal learning outcomes.

We would like to thank all stakeholders who supported the program's activities, in making the week a great success, as well we all congratulate those Learners who participated in the weeks training sessions, and trust your new knowledge and skills support both workplace opportunities and learning pathways.
